Abstract
alpha, beta-Unsaturated gamma-lactams 2 and 3 undergo regio- and stere oselective 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions with N-benzyl- and N-methyl nitr ones and can act as acceptors in conjugate addition of N-methylhydroxy lamine. These reactions give access to highly functionalized pyrrolido nes.
