Cn. Su et al., INTERPRETATION OF A DYNAMIC RADAR CROSS-SECTION USING THE WAVELET TRANSFORM, International journal of electronics, 78(1), 1995, pp. 67-75
The wavelet analysis technique is applied to obtain instantaneous time
-frequency information from dynamic radar cross-section data, since th
e dynamic electromagnetic backscattered signals contain both time and
frequency information. The multiresolution property of the wavelet tra
nsform (WT) is well suited to analysing such time-varying signals. Exa
mples of the analysis for a generic missile target are presented. Resu
lts from the short-time Fourier transform and WT are used to interpret
the backscattered radar response to the motion states of a missile ta
rget.
