Abstract
Using an ecological perspective, the comprehensive effect of divorce v ariables on children's post-divorce adjustment was investigated. The m icrosystem, exosystem and overall composite scores accounted for signi ficant proportions of variance in children's self-reported maladjustme nt and self-esteem, but not in parents' reports of children's maladjus tment. The implications for preventive interventions are discussed.
