Experiments in a sapphire anvil cell have been carried out to study th
e behaviour of water (85%)-ammonia (15%) solutions at high pressure an
d low temperature in order to understand the thermal evolution of Tita
n. In situ Raman spectroscopy allows us to characterize the ice phases
in the pressure range 100 MPa-1.5 GPa and in the temperature range 13
0-300 K. The present study describes several cases exhibiting ice phas
es different from those expected according to the phase diagram of wat
er ice. A liquidus of the H2O (85%)-NH3 (15%) solution is presented.
