M. Cruchaga et al., ON THE PSEUDOMATERIAL APPROACH FOR THE ANALYSIS OF TRANSIENT FORMING PRECESSES, Communications in numerical methods in engineering, 11(2), 1995, pp. 137-148
A fixed-mesh method for the analysis of transient forming processes is
presented. The mesh covers material regions and zones through which t
he material may flow. These last zones are identified by a pseudomater
ial with relatively small physical parameters. During time processing,
the interface between both materials is followed by an arbitrary Lagr
angian mesh. This technique appears to be suitable for the treatment o
f moving surfaces with sharp corners. A particular boundary condition
for the Navier-Stokes equations is also introduced in order to model a
porous wall.
