Abstract
The ductility of Ni60Al20Fe20 was enhanced significantly by directiona l solidification. High ductility of approximate to 21% can be obtained . The ductility enhancement can be attributed to the modification of p hase-boundary orientation, stress-induced martensitic transformation a nd the favorable orientation relationship between the beta- and gamma- phases.
