The speed of the gamma-rays obtained from positron annihilation has be
en measured as a test of the long-term stability of a fast timing coin
cidence system. The value c = (2.9978 +/- 0.0002)10(8) m/s has been ob
tained, whose precision is the best among those obtained from nuclear
timing techniques.
