Abstract
The crystal of Sc(NH3OH)(SO4)2.1.5H2O is built up from scandium, sulfa te and hydroxylammonium ions, and from two crystallographically differ ent molecules of water. The structure can be described as comprising c hains of octahedrally and tetrahedrally arranged O atoms around Sc and S atoms, respectively. These chains are hydrogen bonded by the hydrox ylammonium ions and the water molecules.
