Abstract
The crystal structure of [C2H5)4N][(CH3)4N][ZnCl4] [abbreviated to (TE A)(TMA)ZnCl4] was investigated by means of X-ray diffraction at room t emperature. The crystal structure can be regarded as layered by repeat ing the sequence (TMA)+/(ZnCl4)2-/(TEA)+/(TEA)+/(ZnCl4)2-. In the same layer, the (TMA)+ tetrahedra may be ordered or disordered according t o their position in the layer.
