In the crystals of ro-1-methyl-4H-imidazol-4-one-N3)dichlorozinc(II),
[ZnCl2(C4H7N3O)2], the Zn atom is fourfold coordinated by the two N at
oms situated at the 3 positions of the imidazole rings and by two Cl a
toms. The coordination environment at the Zn atom is distorted tetrahe
dral. The amino and carbonyl groups participate in a hydrogen-bond net
work.
