Jj. Fisz, AN ALGORITHM FOR ANALYZING THE POLARIZATION-FREE PICOSECOND FLUORESCENCE EXPERIMENTS ON TICT, CT, PT AND OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEMS IN SOLUTIONS, Chemical physics, 192(2), 1995, pp. 163-188
An algorithm for analyzing the picosecond fluorescence decays of TICT,
CT, PT and other relevant two-excited state systems in solutions, is
presented. This algorithm enables for: (a) separation of fluorescence
decays of the transient state (TICT, CT or PT) and the decay of the pr
imary excited state, both contributing to the measured fluorescence de
cay at the same emission wavelength, (b) separation of the steady-stat
e emission bands, (c) determination of the quantum yields for both sta
tes, (d) determination of the radiative fluorescence lifetimes, the ra
tes for non-radiative processes, the rates for forward and backward ki
netic relaxation as well as the activation energies of the relaxation
processes involved. Experimental examples for some CT, TICT and PT com
pounds, are discussed.
