Abstract
A binuclear organic derivative of gold(I) with diphenylmethane CH2(C6H 4)(2)(AuPPh(3))(2) has been prepared by the reaction of 2,2'-dilithium diphenylmethane with ClAuPPh(3). X-ray analysis of this compound revea led a transoid conformation of the molecule with agostic bonds between the gold atoms and methylene hydrogens. The complex was characterized by IR,H-1 and P-31 NMR, and mass spectral data.
