Dispersion of PSL coagulated particles consisting of different sized s
pheres (1.1 and 1.9 mu m in diameter) in an accelerating liquid flow f
ield in a convergent nozzle was observed. The experimental results sho
w that the dispersability DS, which is defined as the ratio of separat
ion force F-d to adhesion force F-a between particles and is theoretic
ally obtained, can be a useful measure for the dispersion of coagulate
d particles in an accelerating flow field.
