Abstract
The activities of methanol, ethanol or water in potassium acetate solu tions and the vapor-liquid equilibrium relations of methanol-ethanol-p otassium acetate and ethanol-water-potassium acetate systems were dete rmined by use of a flow-type apparatus at 298.15 K. The activity data are presented for single solvent and vapor-liquid equilibrium data are shown for mixed solvents. Salting-out and salting-in effects of potas sium acetate were shown for ethanol-water and methanol-ethanol systems , respectively. Further, the experimental data were correlated by usin g the model of Chen et al.
