Abstract
Most tumours of the sellar region in children give rise to one or more of the following endocrinological symptoms; anterior pituitary hypers ecretion syndromes, growth delay, diencephalic syndrome, diabetes insi pidus or precocious puberty. Magnetic resonance imaging enables the vi sualization of tumours, providing recognizable characteristics allowin g the relatively easy recognition of pituitary adenomas, craniopharyng iomas, germinomas, hamartomas, hypothalamic astrocytomas as well as gr anulomatous proliferations.
