Jf. Bonneville et F. Cattin, THE ROLE OF MAGNETIC-RESONANCE-IMAGING IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF ENDOCRINE TUMORS OF THE SELLER REGION IN CHILDREN, Hormone research, 43(4), 1995, pp. 151-153
Most tumours of the sellar region in children give rise to one or more
of the following endocrinological symptoms; anterior pituitary hypers
ecretion syndromes, growth delay, diencephalic syndrome, diabetes insi
pidus or precocious puberty. Magnetic resonance imaging enables the vi
sualization of tumours, providing recognizable characteristics allowin
g the relatively easy recognition of pituitary adenomas, craniopharyng
iomas, germinomas, hamartomas, hypothalamic astrocytomas as well as gr
anulomatous proliferations.
