Abstract
The boron-chelated carboxylic acid of 6,7-difluoroquinolone (8) was su bstituted at C-7 by the 2,3,4,7-tetra-Q-acetate of 1'-demethyllincomyc in (4) and by dihydroconessimine (14). The resulting dechelated produc ts did not reveal any antibacterial activity. A new efficient procedur e for the preparation of the 2,3,4,7-tetra-Q-acetate of 1'-demethyllin comycin (4) is proposed.
