Abstract
One megawatt CW (steady state operation) gyrotrons have been developed . The first gyrotron was the cavity mode output tube which demonstrate d the one megawatt capability. The second tube is made by modifying th e output mode to a Gaussian one by a built-in high efficiency quasi-op tical mode converter. The designs, cold tests and preliminary test res ults are described.
