Abstract
An exact model calculation for the band structure based on the one-dim ensional Kronig-Penney model including the local potential induced by the monolayers, is developed and compared to the conventional one. Alt hough it is formulated for strained superlattices, it may be generaliz ed to any abrupt strained heterostructures.
