Abstract
Polarization-independent two-wavelength nonlinear-optical loop mirrors are analyzed theoretically by use of a Jones matrix model. The model is then applied to study the effect of fiber polarization group-veloci ty dispersion and control duty cycle on the extinction ratio in nonlin ear-optical loop mirror demultiplexing.
