Vapor-liquid equilibrium at 101.3 kPa has been determined for the bina
ry systems of 1,3-dioxolane, 1-chlorobutane and 2-chlorobutane. The bi
nary systems 1,3-dioxolane-chlorobutanes exhibit positive deviations f
rom ideal behavior while the binary 1-chlorobutane-2-chlorobutane beha
ves ideally. The activity coefficients and boiling point of the soluti
on were correlated with its composition by the Redlich-Kister and Wisn
iak-Tamir equations.
