Abstract
Gastrostomy for nutritional support or relief of bowel obstruction can be performed surgically or via percutaneous nonsurgical techniques, T he nonsurgical techniques, either endoscopic or fluoroscopically guide d, have recently increased in popularity due to their decreased morbid ity and reduced cost. The percutaneously guided fluoroscopic approach was first described in 1983, and the efficacy and safety has since bee n proven in several series. We describe our experience in 100 cases of tube placement under radiological guidance, which is the preferred ch oice of treatment in our institution by surgeons, gastroenterologists and radiologists.
