Abstract
This article begins with a brief review of the technical potential, th e regional distribution, and the air pollution effects of all fossil e nergy sources as well as of all clean and renewable energy sources tha t could be used in Turkey. Air pollution levels due to fossil fuel con sumption are examined. In this context, the role of clean energy sourc es is indicated.
