Abstract
A hadron calorimeter in which scintillators are aligned in parallel wi th the particle beam and the light is output from the scintillators vi a optical fibers doped with a reradiating is described. The active ele ment has been tested and the calorimeter's operation simulated. The st ructure of a calorimeter unit is illustrated.
