The density meter is based on a SO PD(F)-5/150 film density meter (70
mu m thick), in which the optical density S = log(10)(I-0/I) is measur
ed between similar to 10(-3) and 1.6 to estimate the radiation load on
accelerator equipment (from 10(3) to 5 . 10(5) Gy. At S = 1.6 the rel
ative error is about 0.2%. The pulsed source of light is a CsI(T1) sci
ntillator exposed to alpha-particles from a Pu-238 source. The hardwar
e and software are identical to those used in gamma spectrometers.
