This paper gives an introduction to the Data Interaction Architecture
Demonstrator (DIADEM) designed and built by British Aerospace Dynamics
, and describes an example of the use of the Demonstrator for a multip
le-robot workspace simulation. The design method, the hardware and the
software for DIADEM are outlined, followed by a discussion of the str
ategy and algorithms used for the simulation. Some comparisons with al
ternative strategies for the simulation are made.
