Abstract
Trans-[BrMn(CO)(2)(dppm)P(OPh)(3)] reacts with SR(2); R = C2H5 and C3H 7 to give the cationic complexes trans-[Mn(CO)(2)(dppm)P(OPh)(3)(SR(2) )]PF6 while from the reaction of cis,cis [BrMn(CO)(2)(dppm)P(OPh)(3)] with the thioether ligands the unaltered dicarbonyl manganese complex was isolated. The new cationic complexes were characterized by element al analysis, IR, H-1-NMR, P-31-NMR and UV-visible spectroscopic method s. The different reactivity between the cis and trans isomers is discu ssed in terms of Mn-Br bond strength and steric factors.
