Abstract
A cross-correlation study for time-lags of +/-5 yrs between eleven gro und based ozone stations (1957-1985) for phi = 40 degrees N-75 degrees N and lambda = 30 degrees E-114 degrees W and five volcanic emissivit y indices has shown their close connection: significant correlations w ell above 90% were obtained. Intepretation of these positive/negative correlations (tau) was based on the global wind circulation (aided als o by a 2-D, 3-D representation between phi, lambda, tau), and the type s of volcanic aerosols leading to heterogeneous chemical reactions wit h ozone.
