Abstract
An overview of the state-of-the-art in flow injection analysis (FIA) c oupled to instruments capable of providing either multidetection and/o r multi-information is reported. The versatility of FIA endows the hyp henated instruments with analytical capabilities which increase from s imple sample introduction to more complex sample handling such as auto matic dilution and calibration, solvent exchange, derivatization react ions and on-line separation processes, among others. Unexplored aspect s of these powerful problem solvers are also discussed.
