Zc. Gu et Xd. Wang, THE APPLICATION OF PRINCIPAL COMPONENT REGRESSION ON SIMULTANEOUS MULTICOMPONENT DETERMINATIONS THROUGH A SINGLE CATALYTIC KINETIC RUN, Talanta, 42(2), 1995, pp. 205-210
The kinetic behaviors of Cr(VI) and W(VI), which catalyze a common ind
icator reaction between H2O2 and I-, were studied. A new concept, 'Rat
e Spectrum', is proposed. The two catalysts can be determined simultan
eously by analyzing the rate spectra of their mixtures as the rate spe
ctra of each catalyst are linearly independent. Principal Component Re
gression (PCR) was used to analyze the rate spectra of the mixtures of
Cr and W, and in this way the two ions were determined simultaneously
through a single kinetic run.
