Abstract
According to the literature, electroconvulsive therapy and benzodiazep ines, especially lorazepam, are recommended for the treatment of carat onia. We report the case of a 56-year-old woman,with catatonia resista nt to electroconvulsive therapy and benzodiazepines. Treatment with zo lpidem led to durable improvement. This case suggests that zolpidem sh ould be tested in catalonia since side effects ave minimal.
