Sl. Cheng et al., FATAL HEMORRHAGE CAUSED BY VASCULAR INJURY ASSOCIATED WITH AN ACETABULAR FRACTURE, The journal of trauma, injury, infection, and critical care, 38(2), 1995, pp. 208-209
We present a case of a widely displaced double-column acetabular fract
ure associated with lacerations of the ipsilateral common iliac artery
and vein, resulting in a fatal hemorrhage. This case illustrates the
importance of considering the possibility of a concomitant vascular in
jury in the assessment of a patient with an acetabular fracture and ot
herwise unexplained hemorrhage.
