Abstract
The radioimmunoassay was used to study blood serum B-2-M levels in 56 patients with pulmonary diseases (lung carcinoma in 20, chronic suppur ative lung disease in 20, and bening lung disease in 16 patients) befo re the operation and in the early postoperative period. The control gr oup was formed of 21 practically healthy individuals. A direct correla tion between the character of the course of the postoperative period i n patients with bening and chronic pulmonary diseases and the dynamics of changes of immunoreactivity (IR) was found. A favorable course of the postoperative period was marked by an increase of IR, in postopera tive infectious complications IR did not change. Dynamics of IR was no t revealed in patients with lung carcinoma, irrespective of the course of the postoperative period.
