Research into stroke rehabilitation is an active area of investigation
, and ample evidence suggests that patients with moderate deficits ben
efit from focused rehabilitation programs. Increasing age, stroke seve
rity, and neuropsychological deficits are associated with a poor outco
me. In this review we will discuss the most recent literature on strok
e rehabilitation, with special emphasis on outcome predictors, motor r
ecovery, and therapeutic strategies for aphasia and neuropsychological
deficits.
