W. Blau et al., SUCCESSFUL REPAIR OF COMBINED SEPTAL AND BIVENTRICULAR FREE-WALL RUPTURE AFTER ACUTE MYOCARDIAL-INFARCTION, Catheterization and cardiovascular diagnosis, 34(3), 1995, pp. 231-234
The following case is the first report of successful repair of combine
d left and right ventricular free wall and ventricular septal rupture.
Reports of left ventricular free wall and septal rupture and reports
of right ventricular free wall and septal rupture have been published
both with and without successful surgical repair. This case demonstrat
es the presence of left and right ventricular free wall rupture along
with septal rupture based upon cardiac catherization and operative fin
dings. In spite of her severe mechanical complications and prolonged h
ospital course, the patient is completely functional 1 year after surg
ical repair. (C) 1995 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
