Experiments are conducted ro study the initiation and propagation of d
etonation in dry and water-filled detonating fuses. The structure of t
he detonation front is studied by electromagnetic methods and high-spe
ed photography of luminescence at the end of the fuse. it is shown tha
t moistening of the charge suppresses nonideal detonation regimes. Suc
h regimes account for the sensitivity of the explosive to the formatio
n of weak shock waves.
