Abstract
Some 5-formylvanillin functional derivatives were synthesized in order to obtain new potential biological activity compounds. In the 5-formy lvanillin reaction with equimolecular quantities of aminoesters, hydro xylamine, semicarbazide and thiosemicarbazide, corresponding monofunct ional derivatives were got. The compounds were characterized by thin l ayer chromatography and elementary analysis. The biological tests done on synthesized compounds proves that only the 5-formylvanillin monoxi me and dioxime have antimicrobian activity.
