The tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol anode oxidation, on bright platinum and
lead dioxide electrodes, function of the alcohol concentration, envir
onment temperature, solution pH, and potential working electrode scann
ing rate, was studied by the potentiodynamic method. The kinetic param
eters determined from the polarization on curves, as well as the spect
ral analyses results, lead to some THF alcohol oxidation mechanisms, i
n acid medium.
