Abstract
Chiral tripod ligands [tripod = CH3C(CH(2)PR(2))(CH(2)PR(2)')(CH2-PR(2 ) ''), 1a-d] with three different donor groups react with Fe(NCMe)(6)( BF4)(2) to yield the complexes tripodFe(NC-Me)(3)(BF4)(2) (2a-d). Thes e complexes show an idealized octahedral coordination based on a facia l coordination of the triPod ligand, The asymmetry of the chiral tripo d ligands 1a-d induces a differentiation of the remaining coordination sites at iron. The structure and the dynamic behaviour of the compoun ds 2a, b is elucidated by X-ray structural analyses and 2D-NMR techniq ues.-
