The infrared spectrum of the AsO radical in its (II)-I-2 ground state
has been measured using a diode laser spectrometer. Rovibrational tran
sitions of the fundamental and a number of hot bands were measured in
both (II3/2)-I-2 and the (II1/2)-I-2 substates to an estimated accurac
y of +/-0.001 cm(-1). These data allowed the accurate determination of
a set of molecular parameters for AsO, which includes, for the first
time, the Lambda-doubling parameter and several higher-order parameter
