Hp. Heckert et al., HISTOPATHOLOGICAL EXAMINATIONS OF THE INF LAMMATORY RESPONSE IN THE TAIL TIPS OF BULLS, Tierarztliche Umschau, 50(3), 1995, pp. 155-159
Inflammation of the tail tip occurs commonly during the intensive fatt
ening of bulls, resulting in substantial economic losses. The aetiolog
y remains unclear and there is a need to study the pathogenesis. The r
esults of macroscopic and microscopic examinations on 22 affected tail
s which had required surgical amputation are described and possible ca
uses are discussed.
