Abstract
A mathematical model will be presented that results in an equation sim ilar to the nonlinear Schrodinger equation containing all common dispe rsion terms, i.e. material dispersion, waveguide dispersion and profil e dispersion. Using this equation numerical solutions are performed fo r two distinct situations: (i) N-soliton (N=1, 2, 3) pulse propagation and (ii) two-coupled-soliton pulse propagation. Soliton fission and v arious modulations of the pulse profile will be discussed.
