Abstract
The acid-base reaction of the Al-III imido cubane [AlMe(Nmes)](4) (mes = 2,4,6-Me(3)C(6)H(2)) with Li[PH(C6H11)] yielded the heterobimetalli c cage complex [Li(OC4H8)](4)- [{(AlMe)[mu-P(C6H11)]}(2){mu-P(C6H11)}] (2) . C(6)H(5)Me, the metallacyclic tetraanion of which is the first e xample of an. Al-III phosphinidine anion.
