The reaction of Cp'2ZrCl2 (Cp' = C(5)H(4)Me) with solvent-free LiPH(2,
4,6-(Pr3C6H2)-C-i) yields the terminal zirconocene phosphido complexes
Cp'2ZrCl{PH(2,4,6-(Pr3C6H2)-C-i)} (1) (1:1 reaction) or Cp'Zr-2{PH(2,
4,6-(Pr3C6H2)-C-i)}(2) (2) (1:2 reaction). 1 and 2 were characterized
spectroscopically (NMR, IR, MS). An X-ray structure determination was
carried out on 1 (Zr-P 2.6381(8) Angstrom, Zr-Cl 2.4547(6) Angstrom, C
l-Zr-P 93.55(2)degrees).
