Abstract
Solderability and whisker growth of tin-lead alloy deposits from gluco
nate baths were investigated in comparison with deposits from methanes
ulfonic acid baths for commercial use. Effects of lead content in depo
sits on resistivity, carbon content and hardness of deposits were inve
stigated. From the results of X-ray diffraction measurement, it was fo
und that tin-lead alloy deposits from gluconate baths containing tin-t
o-lead concentration ratios of 9:1 and 8:2 showed the (101) preferred
orientation of tin.
