Aa. Abdelrahman et Mm. Osman, EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON VARYING THE COMPRESSION RATIO OF SI ENGINE WORKING UNDER DIFFERENT ETHANOL-GASOLINE FUEL BLENDS, International journal of energy research, 21(1), 1997, pp. 31-40
Using different ethanol-gasoline fuel blends, a VARICOMP engine was us
ed to study the effect of varying the compression ratio on SI engine p
erformance. The performance tests were carried out using different per
centages of ethanol in gasoline fuel, up to 40%, under variable compre
ssion ratio conditions. The results show that the engine indicated pow
er improves with the percentage addition of the ethanol in the fuel bl
end. The maximum improvement occurs at 10% ethanol-90% gasoline fuel b
lend.
