Aa. Burnaeva et al., CRYSTAL-CHEMICAL FEATURES OF SODIUM-PU(III) DOUBLE PHOSPHATES AND CERTAIN OTHER F-ELEMENT PHOSPHATES, Radiochemistry, 36(4), 1994, pp. 315-321
The composition and structure of orthophosphates isolated from a coole
d PuCl3-Na3PO4-NaCl(1:1.5-10:200 mole) melt are interpreted as a funct
ion of the Pu:PO4 ratio. The resulting solid phases are distinct doubl
e orthophosphates of formula Na3Pu2(PO4)(3) and Na3Pu(PO4)(2), which a
re assigned on the basis of their structure types as a monazite and gl
aserite, respectively. The crystal-chemical features of the structure
and formation of the trivalent lanthanide and actinide double phosphat
es with alkali metals are analyzed.
