Abstract
Cocrystallization from the vapor phase of I-131 with solid NH4Cl and N H4Br is investigated at 623 K. The cocrystallization coefficients of I -131 with NH4Cl and NH4Br are 0.85 +/- 0.05 and 0.92 +/- 0.04, respect ively. The method is proposed for use in systems for protection from r adioiodine during nuclear power plant accidents.
