Abstract
The isomerization of free n-pentyl cations produced by a nuclear chemi cal method is studied using radiochemistry. The extent of the isomeriz ation depends on the phase and vapor pressure of the substrate (methyl -tert-butyl ether). The isomerization times of the normal and secondar y free pentyl cations are estimated.
