The excess current fluctuations are calculated for several models of 1
D disordered contact of a small conductance, G << e(2)/h. It is shown
that (i) the noise is suppressed compared to the classical shot noise
by a factor F < 1; (ii) the magnitude of the suppression is sensitive
to the type of disorder; (iii) for all the models considered here F is
greater than (or equal to) the universal value F = 1/3 for the multic
hannel diffusive conductors.
