Abstract
We compare the landscape structure generated by the farming systems of two French regions. The system of production and the resulting farm f unctioning appears to be a major factor in landscape organisation. Mor e emphasis should be put on farming systems studies to enhance our und erstanding of landscape dynamics and associated ecological processes.
